Â鶹ÊÓƵ and Pasadena City College (PCC) have partnered to make the path from PCC to Occidental clearer and more flexible. Through the PCC-Occidental Transfer Agreement you can plan your PCC coursework confidently, knowing which courses will fulfill Occidental’s Core Program requirements, while getting support from both PCC and Occidental as you prepare to transfer.

You’ll also have more opportunities to connect with Occidental admission counselors, visit campus, learn about financial aid and affordability, and get to know the Â鶹ÊÓƵ community.

Plan Your Path to Â鶹ÊÓƵ

The PCC-Occidental articulation agreement identifies PCC courses that fulfill many of Occidental’s Core Program requirements, helping you make informed choices about your coursework before you transfer. Review the agreement with your PCC transfer counselor to plan your courses and see how they apply toward an Occidental degree.

Applying to Occidental

PCC students apply to Occidental through the same transfer admission process as other transfer applicants. Reminder: Â鶹ÊÓƵs welcomes transfer students after just one semester–you can apply during your first year at PCC in the spring or the fall.  

Spring admission deadline: November 1
Fall admission priority deadline: March 1

Transfer Admission FAQs

No. Â鶹ÊÓƵ does not charge an application fee. We believe that cost should not be a barrier to opportunity, and we want every student to feel welcome and encouraged to apply—no fee, no waiver needed.

To earn your degree, you’ll need to complete at least 64 of the required 128 units at Occidental, so you may transfer in up to 64 units from previous institutions. However, to be eligible to apply as a transfer student, you must have completed at least 16 units (one full-time semester) by the time of enrollment.

While we consider all eligible applicants, those who are most competitive typically have a 3.6 GPA or higher in full-time academic coursework at an accredited college or university.

Most transfer students live in on-campus housing alongside fellow transfers and continuing students. Housing assignments are based on availability and preferences, and Occidental’s residential communities are designed to support a smooth and connected transition to campus life. Students may also request approval to live off campus.
